
Rock Tumbling Larvikite – Process & Techniques
This is one in a series of Rock Tumbling “How-To” videos that I have been posting on YouTube. This video features me tumbling Larvikite! Larvikite is a gorgeous, flashy gemstone that is in the same family as Moonstone and Labradorite. Larvikite is also known as Blue Pearl Granite, Black Labradorite, and Norwegian Moonstone. The tumbling rough is a granite stone made up of small bits of Larvikite. Because of this, it is pretty fragile in the tumbler and prone to chipping easily. Due to its fragile nature – Larvikite is an Advanced level project.
