
Rotary Rock Tumbling Sodalite – Process & Techniques
This is one in a series of Rock Tumbling “How-To” videos that I have been posting on YouTube. This video features me tumbling Sodalite! This is a royal blue stone with white streaks that is reminiscent of marble. Sodalite is of the very few deep blue stones. Unakite is however, a bit of a challenge to get an even smooth surface because each component is a different Mohs hardness and tends to grind away at a different rate leaving a somewhat bumpy surface. It still shines up quite nicely! Due to its inconsistent nature – Tumbling Sodalite is an Intermediate level project.
