Blue Lace Agate: Stone of Expansion

Blue Lace Agate – (Throat Chakra) – (Zodiac of Pisces)

This gemstone is one of the loveliest in my collection! Like Malachite, it is created by the slow layering of different shades to create stunning patterns in the stone. Blue Lace Agate reminds me of a lightly cloudy sky and I feel more open and lighter just looking at it.

Science – Blue Lace Agate is part of the Chalcedony family and is comprised of layers of blue and white agate. It is quite beautiful, but one of the less available stones on the market. It is a little harder to find, so may be a little more expensive to purchase. It is not outrageously expensive, but a little more than other varieties of agates.

Historical Significance – The name of Agate comes from the river Achetes in Sicily and has been used as far back as 3000 BC. It was found in Neolithic ruins, ancient India artifacts, and in Egyptian tombs.

Metaphysical Attributes – Blue Lace Agate is associated with the Throat Chakra, so it primarily assists with communication. It encourages freedom of expression and speaking our Truth. Most importantly, it dissolves fear and repression related to a fear of being judged or self-doubt. If you’re not speaking up for worry of what others think, this is the very best gemstone to work with. It works wonders for fear of public speaking!

This stone also helps boost the effectiveness of affirmations. If you are doing mantra or affirmation repetitions, this will add some power to those intentions. Blue Lace Agate Reminds us that words have Power, and reinforces the need to consider the consequences of words. Our speech creates our reality. Words aid in manifestation. Unkind words bring forth a harsh environment. Self-critical talk holds us down.

Blue Lace Agate is a gemstone of the sky. It has a very high spiritual vibration, and brings an energy of lightness, air, and movement. If you are feeling heavy or stagnant, this stone will lighten up your environment and mindset. This gemstone helps us connect with higher guidance. It is closely tied to our guardian angels, spirits, and animals. Meditating with this gem will guide us into a deeper stillness in which we can receive the guidance and open up to the spirit of the Universe.

Finally, this gemstone is incredibly nurturing. It neutralize anger and fosters a pure peace of mind. During times of conflict, this is a perfect stone to diffuse angry emotions and allows us to choose our words wisely.

Physical Effects – This stone provides stress relief, lowers anger, and blood pressure.

Practice Mantra for Inspiring Authenticity – Sit in seated meditation, holding the Blue Lace in your less dominant hand to receive its energy.  Really feel the support of the cushion or floor beneath you. 1. Aaaah…this is my stone 🙂 I’ve been holding it at night as I relax in bed and say my ‘protection prayer’, and then I put it under my pillow. Recently, when I felt horribly disturbed and upset, I held it for hours and it calmed me. I remember your post on Angelite and how you guessed my blue stone was a Blue Lace Agate, so I was particularly delighted to read this. Thank you for giving me a deeper understanding of why I find it so comforting.xxx
